The microsite, accessible here conatins information about how to protect people and property before, during and after a windstorm and resources about different types of tropical cyclones, hurricanes and windstorms. Zurich first introduced “Zurich HelpPoint for Natural Disasters,” a website providing businesses with tools to help them prepare for and cope with the consequences of natural catastrophes, during a news conference at the 2011 Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. Conference & Expo in May.
“The next five months is a critical time for our customers with businesses in hurricane prone areas,” said Armand Fernandez, chief risk engineering officer for Zurich Services Corporation. “In addition to having adequate insurance coverage to help businesses recover from a disaster, Zurich’s risk engineering team members are helping business risk managers plan ahead and proactively address their enterprise resilience exposure. Zurich’s new microsite provides tools to help them recover more quickly if their operation is hit by a storm.”
